Weary And Cold

Two people in life

growing weary and cold,

giving up lost dreams

to gracefully grow old.

They’ve laughed and cried

given it their all,

this bent over couple

who once stood tall.

Guided by their parents

from birth thru school,

always given the advice

don’t be anyone’s fool.

Both held and kissed

shown love and caring,

sampled faith and trust

traveling life with daring.

Alone and drifting

they found each other,

a creating of family

forming sister and brother.

Together they built

using visions and dreams,

resisting the odds

and those with schemes.

Years have gone by

and the children departed,

alone and drifting

right back to where they started.

Their trip has been made

both wiser but old,

two people in life

growing weary and cold.
